மின்வெட்டு புதிய அரசியல் மூலதனமா?

தமிழ்நாட்டில் மின்சார வெட்டு ஏற்பட்டிருப்பதனால் பல தொழில்கள், விவசாயம், வியாபாரம் முதற்கொண்டு, வீட்டு வசதிகள் உள்பட பல வகையில் மக்களுக்கு இழப்பும் இடையூறும் ஏற்படும் என்பது உண்மை.

நவீன அறிவியல் யுகத்தில் மின்சாரம் எவ்வளவு சக்தி வாய்ந்தது என்பதை இம்மாதிரி நெருக்கடி நேரங்களில்தான் உணர முடியும்.

பக்திமான் இந்நாட்டில் கண்டது பிரசாதம்; புத்திமான் கண்டது மின்சாரம் என்ற அறிவு மொழியின் ஆழ்ந்த பொருளை இந்த நேரங்களில் தான் நன்கு உணர முடியும்.

இப்படி அதிகமான மின்வெட்டு ஏற்பட்டிருப்பதற்குக் காரணம் தென் மேற்கு பருவக் காற்று தவறி மழை குறைந்ததால் நீர் மின்சாரம் உற்பத்திக் குறைவும், ஆந்திரா கிளர்ச்சியால் நிலக்கிரி வராததால் அனல் மின்சார உற்பத்திக் குறைவும் ஏற்பட்டதால் பற்றாக்குறை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது என்பது கொஞ்சம் புரிந்துவருக்கும் தெரியாமற் போகாது.

பொதுவாகவே நாடு வளர வளர மின்சாரத்தின் தேவை பல மடங்கு முன்னைக் காட்டிலும் பெருகியே தீரும். தற்போது தமிழ்நாடு கிராமப்புறங்களுக்கு மின்சாரம் அளிப்பதில் முதல் மாநிலமாகக் காட்சி அளிக்கிறது.

மின்சாரத் தேவைகளுக்கே அதன் உற்பத்தி பெருக வேண்டும். மின்சாரத்தை மூன்று வகைகளில்தான் உற்பத்தி செய்திட முடியும்.

1. நீர் மின்சாரம் - (Hydro Electric Schemes)
2. அனல் மின்சாரம் - (Thermal Electricity)
3. அணுசக்தி மூலம் - (Atomic Energy)

தமிழ்நாட்டில் இம்மூன்று துறைகளிலும் எந்தத்துறையில் எப்படி எப்படியெல்லாம் செய்து அதிகபட்சம் உற்பத்தித் திறனைப் பெருக்க முடியுமோ அதனை அரசு செய்யாமல் இல்லை; செய்து கொண்டே தான் வந்திருக்கிறது.

பழைய ஆட்சியின்போதும் மின்சார வெட்டு கோடைக்காலங்களில் வருவது உண்டு. வந்ததே கிடையாது என்று எவரும் சத்தியம் செய்ய முடியாது. தற்போது தேவைகள் அதிகமாகிப் பெருகியதாலும் பருவமழை தவறியதும் நிலக்கரி வராமையாலும் அப்பற்றாக்குறை மிகவும் ஆழமாக ஆகியுள்ளது.

இதனை வைத்து திமுக ஆட்சிக்கு எதிராக மக்களைத் திரட்டுவதற்காக அரசியல்வாதிகள் இப்போதே தோள் தட்டி, தொடை தட்டி படை கூட்டிப் புறப்பட்டு விட்டனர்!

தமிழ்நாட்டில் ரிங்மாஸ்டர்களாகியுள்ள வலது கம்யூனிஸ்டு கட்சியும் சேர்ந்து நாடு தழுவிய போராட்டம் நடத்தப் போகிறார்களாம்!

அவர்களைக் கேட்கிறோம்: மின் வெட்டு என்பது தமிழ்நாட்டு சர்க்காரின் திறமை இன்மை என்பதால்தான் என்றால் கீழே உள்ள மாநிலங்களில் யார் ஆளுங்கட்சி? அங்கெல்லாம் ஏன் மின்சார வெட்டு ஏற்பட்டது?

அங்கெல்லாம் கிளர்ச்சி மறியல், பேரணி, முதலியவை உண்டா?

தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்களை ஒன்றும் தெரியாத அடிமடையர்கள் என்று இக்கட்சிகள் கருதுகின்றனவா?
கூடுதலாக உற்பத்தி செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கிறது! என்றாலும் பற்றாக்குறை, தட்டுப்பாடு என்றால் அதற்குக் காரணம் என்ன?

கிராமப்புறங்கள் மின்சாரமயம் ஆகியதால் தான் என்பது ஒரு விவரம் தெரிந்த பேச்சல்ல. காரணம் மற்ற தேவைகளில் 1 சதவிகிதம் தான் கூடுதலாக அதற்கு, கிராமங்களில் எரியும் தெரு விளக்குகளுக்கு ஆகிறது! எனவே அதனால்தான் இவ்வளவு தட்டுப்பாடு என்பதும் பொருந்தாதவாதமாகும்.

தேவை அதிகம் வளர்ச்சியின் வேகம் அதிகம். நவீன யுகத்தில் மின்சாரம் மிகவும் இன்றியமையாத ஒன்றாகிவிட்டது!

உலகம் முழுவதும் இப்பிரச்சினை இருக்கிறது. இது இந்திய உபகண்டப் பிரச்சினை மட்டுமல்ல. தமிழ்நாடு அரசு எதைச் செய்யத் தவறியது?

மந்திரத் தாயத்து மூலமோ, புட்டபர்த்தி சாயிபாபா மூலமோ வரவழைப்பதா மின்சாரம்?
இவைகளை அறியாதவர்கள் அல்ல சுற்றுக்கோள் கட்சிகளும் என்றாலும், எரியும் வீட்டில் பிடுங்கியது லாபம் என்பதுதான் இவர்கள் தத்துவம் போலும்!

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was told on Thursday that more than 7,000 cases of rape and murders of women were registered between 2005 and 2007, in addition to 1,019 cases of honour killings. According to statistics tabled in the Lower House, the total number of honour killing cases is 1,019 – 321 in 2005, 339 in 2006 and 359 in 2007. Stove burning cases include 18 cases in 2005, 17 in 2006 and 10 in 2007. Meanwhile, 3,236 murder cases were registered during the period between 2005 and 2007 – 1,075 in 2005, 1,084 in 2006 and 1,077 in 2007. Similarly, 4,971 rape cases were registered in this period. The number of registered cases of domestic violence in the country is 4,290, apart from acid attacks, honour killings and stove accidents. Taliban kill mullah critical of suicide(AP)

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN - Suspected Taliban militants killed a religious leader in western Afghanistan after he criticized the use of suicide attacks in the country, an Afghan official said Friday.

Militants kidnapped Shamsudin Agha in Farah province's Anar Dara district on Tuesday, days after he led prayers condemning the practice of using suicide attacks as a weapon of war, said provincial police Chief Abdul Ghafar Watandar.

Suicide attacks are one of the Taliban's preferred tactics in their attacks against Afghan and foreign troops. Most of the victims of such attacks have been civilians.

Authorities recovered Agha's body on Wednesday night in Farah's Khaki Safed district, Watandar said.

Agha was the head of the religious council of Farah's Anar Dara district, he said.

In eastern Afghanistan, meanwhile, a suicide car bomber struck a police vehicle, wounding two officers, said Wazir Pacha, a provincial police spokesman.

Violence by the Taliban and other insurgent groups has spiked this year to record levels. Attacks are up 30 percent from 2007, military officials say.

On Thursday, another suicide car bomber struck a U.S. patrol, killing eight Afghan civilians and one U.S. soldier and wounding 74 civilians, Afghan officials said.

Nearly 1,000 civilians are among the approximately 5,400 people killed in insurgency-related violence this year, according to a tally by The Associated Press of figures provided by Afghan and international officials. Most of the reported dead have been militants.

Elsewhere, U.S. troops killed four al-Qaida-linked militants during a raid in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday.

The troops were targeting militants who helped local Taliban leaders bring Arab and other foreign fighters into Afghanistan, the U.S. military said in a statement Friday.

The raid occurred in Zormat district in Paktia province. None of the militants killed was identified.

Three other militants were killed in neighboring Ghazni province Thursday, said Ismail Jahangir, the spokesman for the province's governor.

An aide to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has come under fire for attending a ceremony that involved actions deemed insulting to the Koran, a row that has given fuel to the Iranian president's opponents before next year's election.

Ahmadinejad is expected to run for re-election in June. But criticism over his economic management is mounting and he faces a more hostile parliament, which sacked his interior minister this month over a fake university degree.

In comments published on Sunday, opponents targeted his vice-president, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie, who is in charge of a culture and tourism body, for hosting a ceremony where women in traditional dress carried in the Koran, Islam's holy book, to music. Media described the ceremony as a "dance."

"Violation of the sanctity (of the Koran) in the presence of your Excellency's deputy and under his management ... causes deep regret for every Muslim," the head of the Islamic Coalition Front, Mohammad-Nabbi Habibi, said in a letter to the president.

Mashaie is not new to controversy. He created a storm earlier this year by saying Iran was friendly even to the people of Israel, Iran's sworn foe. Ahmadinejad had said those comments by his vice-president were misrepresented.

The "dance" row offers the president's critics ammunition, one political analysts said. "It's like giving those unhappy with Ahmadinejad another piece in this jigsaw puzzle (to piece together against him)," he said, asking not to be named.

The analyst said it would particularly play into the hands of pro-reform politicians, some of whom are trying to convince reformist former President Mohammad Khatami to run in June.

Clerics, including several ayatollahs, which is a top Shi'ite religious rank, have also assailed Ahmadinejad's vice- president. One described the ceremony as a "shameful" act.

Ahmadinejad, the first non-cleric to be president for about a quarter of a century, has had prickly relations with clerics before. Early in his presidency he had to reverse a decision to allow women into football stadiums after clerical criticism.

A group of clerics who are lawmakers in parliament called in a statement for the president "to deal legally with those behind this action" involving the Koran, ISNA news agency said.

Other lawmakers have said Mashaie should be sacked. Even a party close to Ahmadinejad has voiced concern.

Ahmadinejad is facing heavy criticism for economic policies. He came to power in 2005 vowing to spread Iran's oil wealth but critics say lavish spending has fuelled inflation and squandered oil earnings that should have been saved.

அவர் அந்த ரூபாய் நோட்டை தரையில் போட்டு காலால் நசுக்கி அந்த அழுக்கான நோட்டை காட்டி “இன்னும் இதன் மேல் உங்களுக்கு விருப்பம் இருக்கிறதா? என்றார் அனைவரும் இப்போதும் கைகளை தூக்கினர்.

அவர் தொடர்ந்தார் “கேவலம் ஒரு 500 ரூபாய்தாள் பல முறை கசங்கியும் மிதிப்பட்டும் அழுக்கடைந்தும் அதன் மதிப்பை இழக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் மனிதர்களாகிய நாம் அவமானப் படும் போதும் , தோல்விகளை சந்திக்கும் போதும் மனமுடைந்து போய் நம்மை நாமே தாழ்த்தி கொள்கிறோம் . நம்முடைய மதிப்பு என்றைக்கும் குறைவதில்லை. நீங்கள் தனித்துவமானவர். இவ்வுலகில் உள்ள ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் ஒவ்வொர்ருத் தனித் தன்மை இருக்கும். அதன் மதிப்பு என்றைக்கும் குறைவதில்லை. வாழ்கை என்ற பயிர்க்கு தைரியமும் தன்னம்பிக்கையும் தான் உரமும் பூச்சிக்கொள்ளிகளும்.

Iran condemns Sufi to jail, flogging and exile

TEHRAN: Iran's judiciary has sentenced a member of one of the country's largest Sufi sects to five years in jail, flogging and exile for spreading lies, the moderate Kargozaran newspaper reported yesterday. The report identified the man as Amir Ali Mohammad Labaf, member of the Nematollahis or Gonabadi Dervishes order based in the northeastern province of Khorassan Razavi.

Labaf was convicted by a court in Iran's clerical nerve center of Qom after it ruled that his holding of prayers as a Sufi was "a case of spreading lies," the report added, without elaborating. In addition to the five-year prison term, Labaf was sentenced to 74 lashes and exile to the southeastern town of Babak. Security forces have been involved in a number of clashes between the Muslim mystics and Shiite worshippers in the past few years.

Sufi worship is not illegal in Iran but the practice is frowned upon by many conservative clerics who regard it as an affront to Islam. The Islamic mysticism followed by an array of Sufi orders since the early centuries of the faith has always aroused suspicion among orthodox Muslims, whether Shiite or Sunni. In Shiite Islam, some Sufi orders have been further tarnished by the accusation of heresy because of their association with the unorthodox Alevi faith practiced in parts of Syria and Turkey. - AFP

KABUL (Reuters) - A victim of an acid attack on schoolgirls in Afghanistan said Saturday she was determined to stay in school and finish her education even if that meant risking death.

The girl, who gave her name as just Shamsia, was the most seriously injured of a group of girls attacked outside their school by unidentified men in the southern city of Kandahar on Wednesday.

"I'll continue my schooling even if they try to kill me. I won't stop going to school," Shamsia said from her bed at Afghanistan's main military hospital in Kabul.

Shamsia, 17, suffered damage to one of her eyes when the men pulled off the girls' head scarves and threw acid in their faces. She has been brought to hospital in the capital for treatment.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack but it bore the hallmarks of the Taliban, who banned girls from school during their hardline rule from 1996 to 2001.

The insurgents have attacked and destroyed hundreds of schools across the country since they were forced from power in 2001, after the September 11 attacks on the United States.

While some teachers and school caretakers have been killed, most of the attacks on schools have been at night and violence against children has been rare.

The attack on the schoolgirls has shocked a country long used to violence. President Hamid Karzai said the men responsible were the enemies of education.

Shamsia, much of her face covered in a yellow ointment, said she had to finish her lessons to help the country.

"I'll continue going to lessons. I'm studying to be able to build our country," she said.

Senior education official Najiba Nuristani, who was visiting Shamsia in hospital, was also defiant.

"These incidents, these suicide attacks, can not stop education in Afghanistan, especially for girls," she said.

Shamsia's doctor, Mohammad Wali, said the girl had suffered damage to an eye but was in good condition. A medical panel would decide if she needed to be sent to India for treatment, he said.

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 8 (IANS) The relatives of a 59-year-old nun in Kerala say she has been forcibly kept in mental hospitals for over a month to stop her from publishing details of 'undesirable goings-on' at her convent, in another controversy to hit the church in the state.

Treesa Thomas, a nun at the Divine Mary Convent at Anchal in Kollam district, 50 km from here, was first admitted to a private hospital in Idukki district in October and then shifted to the Government Mental Hospital here on the grounds that she is mentally unstable.

But her relatives as well as a state women's commission member have said that she seems to be in perfect health.

Thomas' nephew Santhosh Joseph said: 'She had last month called up my brother Benny in Ireland asking him to save her because she was being tormented by her superiors at the convent.

'It was only after Benny arrived that we came to know why our aunt was being harassed. Our aunt has given a diary that contains details of the happenings at the convent which made the superiors upset and prompted them to say our aunt is mentally unstable,' said Santhosh.

Benny arrived last month and complained to the Kerala State Women's Commission and the Kerala State Human Rights Commission.

'Following this, P.K. Sainaba, a member of the Women's Commission, met our aunt at the private hospital and has since submitted a report to the government stating that our aunt has no ailment.'

Sainaba told IANS that she spent more than an hour with Treesa and found her in perfect shape.

'Even though I am not a psychiatrist, I am certain after my conversation with her that she is a normal person. She said she was being harassed because she had written about certain undesirable events in a book which she wanted to publish. This was objected to by the convent authorities,' said Sainaba.

Sainaba said she has submitted a report to the state government detailing the harassment being meted out to the nun.

Contrary to the statements of the convent authorities, Santhosh's mother, who is Treesa's sister-in-law, said there was no history of mental instability in the nun's family.

'To the best of our knowledge, we don't know of any such family member with mental instability,' said Santhosh's mother.

Abdul Bari, the doctor who is treating Treesa at the Government Mental Hospital here, said she had been there for the past week.

Kerala State Human Rights Commission member Justice A. Lekshmikutty said she had received a complaint about the case from Benny and asked the convent authorities to appear before her Monday.

This is the latest in a series of controversies to hit the church in Kerala.

In August, Sister Anupa Mary, a 24-year-old, committed suicide in her convent in Kollam after allegedly being sexually abused by her superior.

The mystery over the death of Sister Abhaya, whose body was found in a well in St.Pious Convent in Kottayam in 1992, also continues. Last week, the high court said the Kerala unit of the CBI should take up the investigation.
